What is Pump Track Keepers?
Pump Track Keepers is our name for volunteers who join us at our monthly pump track maintenance sessions across Santa Cruz County. When you volunteer with us at these 2-hour events, you can proudly call yourself a Pump Track Keeper and know that you play a vital role in making local tracks safe and enjoyable for everyone.
When and Where
Join us for our drop-in maintenance sessions every second Wednesday of the month two hours before dusk (between 3 - 7 p.m.). Please note that the timing of these events varies seasonally (check our events page for upcoming events).
We work at Harvey West Pump Track (built by SCMTS in 2016), Chanticleer Pump Track (rebuilt by SCMTS in 2020), Scotts Valley Pump Track, and occasionally the Westside Pump Track (built by SCMTS in 2021) or Ramsay Park Pump Track (built by SCMTS in 2021). We carefully select pump track locations for the following month's maintenance session based on their priority. To nominate your local pump track for some much-needed attention, email us at [email protected].
Want to help out, but the timing of our events doesn’t work for you? We can set up a private training session for you so that you can be a Pump Track Keeper on your own time. Email us to set up a screening call at [email protected].

We’ll also patch holes, repair braking bumps, refine track features, and clean up the surrounding area.
What to Bring: All you need to bring is yourself, close-toed shoes, and personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, a hard hat or bike helmet, and eye protection if you have it. We will provide tools, instruction, and extra PPE.
