SCMTS is working hard on construction of the new Sawpit Trail rerouote in Soquel Demonstration State Forest, and we need your help to make it happen!

Riding the new Sawpit Trail will be a whole lot more fun than working a sawpit. In the old days of logging in the Santa Cruz Mountains, felled redwoods were laid across a pit in the ground. Then two men would work a long, crosscut saw up and down, ripping the logs into planks for transport out of the forest in a wagon. Creating the new Sawpit Trail will be hard work, too, but well worth it.

MBOSC is a 501(c)(3) trail stewardship organization that is heading up the design and construction effort of the Sawpit Trail project, and we need your help to make it happen! We need to raise $300,000 to not only recreate Sawpit Trail, the one-time logging road in the Soquel Demonstration State Forest (SDSF), as a modern, advanced mountain biking trail, but also maintain it and all other trails in SDSF over the next five years.

Now is the time to step up. If funding comes through and construction goes as planned, the new Sawpit Trail will be ready to ride next spring. MBOSC is planning to host several weekend Dig Days and some midweek work between Christmas and New Years to get the work done, but we need your help to make it happen. Please contribute to this campaign, and let’s build some new trail!”

Matt DE YOUNG - SCMTS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

When you support Sawpit Trail construction, you just might WIN a brand new bike from Santa Cruz Bicycles!

For every $5 you contribute to support Sawpit Trail construction and maintenance of all SDSF trails for the next five years, you'll be entered into a drawing to win the Santa Cruz Bicycles production model of your choice. No matter which model you choose, you can pick the top-of-the-line-full-bling build. So go ahead, buy a few entries (maybe even a few more), start drooling over all the bikes on their website, and dream about that first ride on your brand new bike. Now all you gotta do is just cross all your fingers and toes that we draw your name!

Thank you!

We appreciate your support!
