Trail Academy 101: Intro to Trails

Led by SCMTS Trails Program staff, Introduction to Trails 101 will provide an introductory foundation for understanding trail experience, including human aspects of trails and physical aspects of trails, basics of trail construction, basics of trail maintenance, and a basic understanding of land manager perspective in managing trails. After taking this class, you will experience a whole new trail perspective!

Trail Academy 200: Volunteer Crew Management

Improve skills for volunteer management. Responsibilities of crew leaders. Trail work safety. Strategies for managing a crew to get high-quality results and build teamwork. Practice dealing with uncomfortable situations.

Trail Academy 250: Natural History of Trails

Join three local experts, in partnership with MBOSC, for a panel presentation that will provide a broader context for trail users and volunteers to understand the open spaces where we work and play.

Trail Academy 301: Trail Design Theory Pt. I

Looking for a bit more in-depth discussion of theory and tools of trail design? Look no further! After joining us for Trail Design Theory, you’ll walk away with an introduction to mapping applications and an understanding of all the preliminary steps for map-based trail planning.
